A Detailed Guide To Making A Homemade Diet Pill

Most people don’t take the time to research what ingredients they are putting in their bodies by taking a diet pill. My advice to anyone considering a diet pill is to “READ THE LABEL!!!” Time and time again, I hear from clients who have had adverse effects because of an allergy or sensitivity to the ingredients in the diet supplement. Lucky for you, I do read the labels and I have been researching the ingredients in diet pills for years.

The purpose of this article is simple- It’s a guide that will help you make your own diet pill. I would like to say, however, that as with anything that you put in your body, precautions should be taken. Please consult with you doctor before taking any medication, vitamin, or supplement. This article should not be taken as medical advice and does not, in any way, substitute for the opinion of a medical profession including your doctor.

When you take a very close look at the ingredients in most diet pills you will see that the individual ingredients are very common vitamin supplements. Diet pills costing $50 or more a bottle can be made at home for a fraction of the price.

Let’s get down to business and discuss what these ingredients are because they are exactly what you will need to begin making your own diet pill. Let’s take, for example the very popular, Leptoprin, often sold online for over $150.00 per bottle.

Here is a list of ingredients as printed on a bottle of Leptoprin:

Calcium – Makes weight loss more efficient by breaking down fat in cells.

Vitamin B6 – Helps maintain blood sugar.

Acetylsalicylic Acid (Aspirin) – Prolongs thermogenic (fat burning) effects and increases metabolism.

Caffeine – Increases thermogenesis and triggers adrenaline flow.

Green Tea – Increases fat oxidation and raises metabolism.

L-Tyrosine – Raises the metabolic rate.

Kelp – Metabolizes excess fat.

Ephedrine – A Stimulant and Appetite Suppressant.

Cayenne – Contains ‘capsaicin’ which is considered a thermogenic substance.

THAT’S IT! Here’s the actual Label (http://www.diet-pill-review.com/leptoprin-label.pdf) if you don’t believe me.

Now you’re saying, wait, “I’ve seen most of those ingredients at the vitamin / grocery store. You’re right; you can get these ingredients in just about any pharmacy or vitamin store.

I should make it clear that I am not advising you to go out and buy all of these ingredients, nor am I telling you to take these pills all together. I’m suggesting that with regular exercise, a balanced diet, and vitamins as a supplement it is possible to lose weight without spending unnecessary money on diet pills (http://www.diet-pill-review.com/leptoprin-label.pdf).

Why Exercise To Lose Belly Fat?

For those who don’t, here is a quick recap why we have to workout to lose fat in the stomach and to get that six pack. Basically, the six pack that everybody is referring to are the abdominal muscles that is situated beneath the chest and stretches down the torso until slightly beneath the belly button.

Remember, the abs is still a muscle, just like any other muscle in the body, there for they are still covered by the layer of belly fat, water and skin. So logically, to get abs, you have to lose that layer of belly fat under the skin and reduce the water retention that creates the smooth look on the abs area. We want that dry, ripped, deep cut and rock hard abs, and there is not better way to achieve that than diet and exercise.

You might argue that by dieting alone you can lose body fat and you don’t have to exercise to lose belly fat. Yes, that is true, as long as the calories in are lesser than the calories out. But get this, how long can you deprive yourself from food? By dieting alone, it is not enough to create a calorie deficit that is required to burn body fat.

More over, by dieting too long, the body metabolism will slow down and eventually; your weight loss progress will come to a halt. You still need to exercise to lose belly fat, because only by exercising, you can benefit from the increase of metabolism, strength, extra calorie burned and so much more.

But do not forget, we cannot specifically lose the fat in the stomach alone, the body fat of the entire body will come down naturally as a whole and eventually, the stomach fat will be burnt too. There is no such thing as spot reduction.

So what is the best abs exercise to lose belly fat?

There are mainly 2 types of exercises, the first one is cardiovascular training, in short, you need to do cardio to burn the belly fat. Fat basically is taken from the fat cells and transported into the muscles and burned during cardiovascular training.

The recommended frequency is 4 to 5 times a week with rest no more than 2 days in between; the session is a 30 – 60 minutes workout at a moderately high intensity of 70-80 percent of the maximum heart rate.

The best cardio exercise to lose belly fat would be the stair climber or stepper, the treadmill and the rower. These machines use the large muscle groups in the body and force the muscles to move in a large range of motion.

The 2 type of exercise is resistance training. While this type of exercise does not really make you lose belly fat, they make abdominal muscles strong to balance the upper body and lower body, protect the spinal cord and make the abdominals muscles stand out.

If your abs standout, its easier for people to notice them compared to the abs that are flat, because abs that are thick creates the deep separation between the abdominal blocks, this creates a clear definition. So in this case, resistance training is one of the best exercises to lose belly fat.

To exercise the oblique, it’s best to do a rotation motion. By doing a rotation movement, it works the internal oblique, which is responsible for rotating the torso. This is a very important exercise to lose belly fat because in creates an illusion for a small waistline. Internal oblique do not grow side ways when they are being exercised with resistance unlike the external oblique.

Use medicine ball rotation to work the internal oblique. Sit firmly on a fit ball, have a workout partner stand behind you, with your arms outstretched, holding a medicine ball, rotate your torso and pass the ball to your workout partner, then rotate to the opposite direction to get the medicine ball back from your buddy and repeat again for 30 reps and then do the opposite direction.

Another fabulous exercise to lose belly fat is to do fitball crunches superset with floor crossover crunches. Place the top of the fitball on your lower back and place both feet wide apart, with your palms supporting your head, crunch up slowly squeezing your abs for a sec and then come down slowly.

Lay down on the floor with your feet together and palms behind your head, crunch up, lifting the shoulder blades of the floor, at the top, rotate to the right and rotate back to the center, only until you rotate back to the center, your come down again and then up and rotate to the left. Do this superset for 3 sets of 30 reps each.

Don’t wait any longer mate! Start your engines now and workout hard for your six-pack. Exercise, diet, do your cardio and I can guarantee you weight loss success!

How To Maximize Acupuncture Weight Loss

You may have heard about acupuncture weight loss and are having trouble believing that sticking needles in someone's body, the traditional image conjured up when someone says acupuncture weight loss, could ever help them lose weight.

Well, maybe your scepticism is born from the fact that you don't know all of the elements involved in acupuncture weight loss treatments.

Acupuncture weight loss grew out of the millennium old Chinese practice of acupuncture. While acupuncture weight loss has been around for almost as long as acupuncture itself it only hit the public consciousness in 2003.

The media began reporting the staggering statistics of acupuncture weight loss in China. In a society where weight loss is a major issue for so many, the news was greeted with much interest.

The Chinese were reporting that acupuncture weight loss was helping a large number of people lose, on average, between twenty two and thirty three pounds. There was even the occasional super case where someone lost huge amounts of weight, sometimes in excess of 240 pounds.

The percentage of success case was fantastic as well. Acupuncture weight loss specialists in China were claiming four out of every five people were losing weight.

It wasn't long before acupuncture weight loss centers began popping up in the west. Yet one visit to an acupuncture weight loss center would quickly dispel any assumption that acupuncture weight loss was exclusively focused on sticking needles in someone's body.

The main goal of acupuncture weight loss is to stimulate the patient's digestive system. While acupuncture weight loss uses acupuncture as the main foundation of this process, it is always married with an herb regimen.

The herbs used in an acupuncture weight loss regimen balance the digestive system, reduce appetite and improve the patient's metabolism. All of these processes are vitally important in a successful acupuncture weight loss plan.

It is also important to note that most reputable clinics using herbs as a part of their acupuncture weight loss regimen are using pharmaceutical quality herbs.

Acupuncture weight loss clinics also use methods such as light exercise, Shaitsu massage, proper breathing lessons, and information on body balance and flexibility as essential elements of a fully rounded acupuncture weight loss system.

It is also important to note that acupuncture weight loss is not an instant weight loss solution. Acupuncture weight loss is a gradual approach that is focused on turning the body and mind into a healthy balanced machine.

That isn't to say that acupuncture weight loss is a gruelling uncomfortable process.

On the contrary, while some of the acupuncture weight loss methods are active, some others, such as Aroma wraps and the previously mentioned Shiatsu massage would have to be considered more on the pampering side of the acupuncture weight loss methodology.

Another recommended site for more weight loss information is: http://4-best-weight-loss.com

So now you hopefully have a different picture of what's involved in an acupuncture weight loss process. You may even be tempted to give an acupuncture weight loss clinic near you a try.

oes Thermogenesis Help You Lose Weight Fast?

One of the many reasons everyone and their mother seems to recommend eating a high protein diet to lose weight and burn fat is because of this "thermogenic" effect.

People are under the misconception that you can lose a lot of weight real fast without if you eat a high protein diet.

This is because protein DOES have a thermogenic effect on the body...........but not enough to make an impact!

"Thermogenesis" or something that has a "thermogenic" effect on the body refers to anything that causes the temperature inside your body (sometimes your temperature on the skin is different from the temperature inside, your core temperature) to rise, to increase.

Well, we all know from school that the average / normal core body temperature is 98.6 degrees.

However, when your core temperature increases, even by just 1 or 2 degrees, it is said that this higher temperature causes the body to turn into a "furnace", raising the metabolism, which results in fat being burned. Here's where everyone is missing the point.

Sure, protein causes the body to work harder to digest it, which causes the body's internal temperature to rise, but it is NOT enough to really make a dent in burning fat or preserving muscle mass.

Researchers at Arizona State University examined individuals that ate a high protein diet and compared them to another group that ate a high carb diet.

What they found was that eating a high protein diet resulted in an average of 30 calories per meal being burned in digestion.

Read that again.......30 calories per meal.

Whoop-tee, doo!!!

30 calories!

Okay, then let's say you eat 5 meals a day.

30 calories per meal, 5 meals a day, that equals 150 calories.

So, you would only be burning an extra 150 calories a day if you were to go on a high protein diet.

Big deal!!!!

150 calories is 1 cup of milk.

It's 2 eggs.

It's half a candy bar.

150 calories isn't going to make any difference whatsoever in helping you gain weight, build muscle mass, or burn fat.

Everyone keeps saying, "Oh, but you can eat more protein lose a ton of fat weight because of the thermogenic effect".

Give me a break........150 calories.....I rather just cut out 1 can of soda a day and get the same effect!

Don't be fooled by the "high-protein" fans.

They just want you to go out and spend your hard-earned money on their bucket of protein.

If you are looking to lose weight and tone up, concentrate on the overall calories.

3 Steps for Breaking Out of Diet Prison

How many more times can you start your diet Monday? Chances are that this attempt will be another one of the almost 95% of diets that fail. This isn’t your fault, you are just stuck in a diet prison from which it seems impossible to escape.

The good news is you can escape from the endless cycle of dieting, deprivation, guilt, shame, overeating, and ultimately gaining more weight. Here are three steps you can take to stop being a dieting statistic and free yourself from food obsession, body hatred, and get on with living.

Step 1: Get educated on the truth about diets

One way to get out of diet prison is to understand the damage diets really do. Here are a few examples that may be enough for you to break your shackles and run as far away from diets as you can.

• For every diet there will be a “diet deprivation backlash”. The more you deprive yourself, the more powerful the binge, ensuring more weight gain.

• Dieting teaches your body how to become more efficient at storing fat – when you diet, the enzymes that stimulate fat storage increase and the enzymes that stimulate fat release decrease.

• Chronic dieters find fat starting to store more in the abdominal area, regardless of where they may have stored fat before.

• This increase in abdominal fat increases your risk for heart disease.

• With every diet, metabolism slows and the rate of weight loss slows down.

• Dieting also increases binging and cravings, increasing fat storage.

Step 2: Undo the diet mentality

If you are a chronic dieter, you probably are a victim of the diet mentality. So it can be hard, even scary to consider giving up dieting.

The longer you hold on to the diet mentality, the longer your term in diet prison. The diet mentality is the way a chronic dieter deals with eating, exercising, and handling emotions. Behaviors include counting calories, exercising as punishment for cheating on your diet, and seeing food in terms of “good” and “bad”. Holding on to the diet mentality leads to more deprivation, which leads to overeating, which then leads to more guilt, shame and anger, keeping the vicious cycle going.

To undo the diet mentality, you first must end the labeling of “good” and “bad” foods. Next, realize that failing at a diet is not about lacking willpower, diets are set up that they fail people. Feeling like a failure will produce feelings of guilt and shame and the deprivation backlash that follows continues the cycle of dieting, bingeing, gaining weight and lengthens your term in diet prison.

Here is the easiest way to eat that will promote weight loss. Eat when you are hungry, and stop when you are full. It really is as simple as that. If you do this consistently, you will return to what your natural body weight is supposed to be. But we have been so busy following diet plans that we no longer feel our hunger and fullness cues. Relearning and responding to these cues is a process that takes time and is an important part of ending the destructive dieting cycle. However, once you learn it you can return to normal eating and lose and keep off the weight you have been struggling with for so long.

Step 3: Learn to eat intuitively

The final step in breaking free from diet prison is to learn to eat intuitively. The ironic thing is all of us knew how to do this from birth.

What infants know instinctively how to do and what we used to know was how to listen to our bodies’ natural hunger and fullness cues. Typically around age 3 our parents start to influence when we eat and we learn to no longer trust our own hunger signals. We hear messages like, “You can’t be hungry, it’s not dinner time”, or, “Eat everything on your plate and you can have dessert”.

You may know people who are at their natural body weight and have been all their life. Instead of being envious of these people, you can take some time to learn from them just by observation. These people eat whatever they want, guilt free. They also eat when they are hungry and stop when they are full, often leaving food on their plate or saving it for later. What is their secret? They have maintained those instinctive behaviors they had as infants, despite outside influences.

Intuitive eating not only addresses the physical disconnection with the body, it also helps overcome emotional overeating and other disordered eating patterns without dieting, restriction or deprivation.

The process is complex and different for everyone, but here are a few hints to get started:

1. Make the decision to give up dieting, forever

2. Give yourself permission to eat any and all foods that you like, guilt free

3. Tune into your physical hunger and fullness and while eating, check in often to see if you are getting full. When you are satisfied, stop eating.

4. To keep your blood sugar stable, every time you eat, have at least a small amount of protein with carbohydrates.

5. If you find yourself wanting to eat and you are not physically hungry, stop and ask yourself what emotion you are feeling. Determine what you actually need at that moment, instead of food. It could be a nap, a walk, to talk to someone, etc.

I can tell you from personal experience, and that of my clients, that the journey back to intuitive eating can be challenging at times, but it is well worth it to leave behind the diets, guilt, frustration and shame – not to mention the weight!

Losing Weight Successfully

There are many different factors that contribute to losing weight and being able to keep that weight off. Balance is an important factor in your weight loss plan. You will find people that have been successful at weight loss do not usually deprive themselves of foods that they like. The best way to deal with the situation is to have a small portion and the craving is gone.

The important thing to remember is that you need to compromise to maintain balance in your diet. If you satisfy that craving and it was high calorie or high fat, you will need to take away the fat or calories somewhere else in your diet. You could also add more exercise for the extra calories. There are options for maintaining balance in your weight loss plan.

You have a certain amount of calories that you plan on eating and you can spend them anyway you like. A calorie is a calorie and they are all going to cause you to gain or lose the same amount of weight. So the key is deciding what foods you want to spend your calories on and how many of them you want to subtract with exercise. If you look at your weight reduction plan as just numbers, it may make it a little easier for you to stay on track.

Consider these four things when you re deciding how to use your calories:

1. What healthy foods do you like? Think about what foods you really like, that are healthy. Can you work these into your diet more often, making it less tempting to indulge on something that is not as healthy and higher in calories?

2. What are your favorite foods that you do not wish to give up? Make a list of foods that you really like and that you do not feel you can live without. The best thing to do with these kinds of foods is to buy them in a single serving or to eat them out in single servings. So, if you like cookie dough ice cream it is not in your best interest to buy it by the gallon and keep it in your freezer.

3. What foods can you not be around? It is best to keep all food, which you have no control over, out of your home. It is best to avoid these foods completely as much as possible.

4. What foods can you give up and not miss? If there are high calorie foods that don’t have much nutritional value and you don’t mind not having them, give them up. Doing this will only benefit you in the end.

If you are able to put these four simple concepts into practice you will be able to balance the foods you enjoy and still be able to lose weight successfully. Give these principles a try and you may find it easier to stay within your weight loss program guidelines.

Dieting Options - The Atkins Diet

When the Atkins diet was introduced, which included a low carbohydrate menu it revolutionalized the dieting world. “Atkins Nutritional Approach” is the philosophy. By eating high-protein and high fat, loss of weight is assured. The assumption is a limited quantity of simple carbohydrates combined with exercise leads to a healthy life.

Food containing low fat is not the way to control weight and to ensure a healthy lifestyle is the controversial belief of the Atkins diet. Dr. Atkins blames carbohydrates such as potatoes, fruits, pastas and grains for weight gain. According to him, the weight loss could be achieved by reducing carbohydrates. He believes that a diet containing too much carbohydrate makes the body retain fat.

A four-phase diet plan to lose weight is promoted by the Atkins diet programme. Maintaining the weight loss is carried out through the last phase of the plan.

Limiting the carbohydrate grams is encouraged in the Atkins diet. During the first two weeks of the plan, all carbohydrate intake is severely limited and then, carbohydrates are added back to the diet gradually during the later period.

In the induction programme covering the first two weeks, only twenty grams of carbohydrate intake is permitted.

In the ongoing loss of weight phase, which is similar to the first phase, carbohydrate intake is gradually increased along with more food, which includes seeds, some berries and nuts.

Pre-maintenance, which is part of the third phase of the plan wherein the dieter is only ten kilograms away from the target, around five to ten grams of carbohyderate is added to the food as long as weight loss is continued Slowly new foods are added to the menu.

Phase 4 covers maintenance of the target weight for a period of one month. At this juncture, the dieter can add carbohydrate grams to the food without weight gain.

All protein foods such as fish, meat and eggs are permitted in the menu. Olives, cheese, butter and olive oil can be used in limited quantities. Most vegetables including avocado, broccoli, tomato, cucumber and lettuce can sustain the dieter with the required energy. Splenda and other similar artificial sweeteners can also be used.

Baked goods, sugar, sweet peas, corn and other starchy vegetables, potato, pasta and bread, fruits, alcohol and nuts are to be totally avoided in the first phase of the programme. Potato, pasta, fruits, nuts and bread can be added in the later phases of the programme.

Increase Your Metabolism And Curb Your Appetite With This Fat-Burning Food

There have been countless studies performed on the role of protein in the muscle growth process to try and determine exactly how much protein you should consume to build muscle mass. Recently, several studies have looked at the role that dietary protein plays in helping you lose fat, and more importantly, helping you keep it off!

One thing scientists have discovered is that eating lean protein foods is important for regulating body composition because it decreases your appetite.

In a 2003 study reported in the journal, Current Opinion in Clinical Nutrition And Metabolic Care (2003; 6(6): 635-638), protein was shown to be more satiating (made you feel fuller) than both carbohydrate and fat both in the short term and the long term.

Eating more lean protein foods has also been proven as an effective strategy to help you burn fat and keep it off because of something called, “dietary thermogenesis” (also known as the thermic effect of food).

In a study published in the British Journal of Nutrition in 2005 (93(2): 281-289), researchers followed a group of 113 overweight subjects after 4 weeks of a very low calorie diet, through a 6 month period of weight maintenance. The subjects were divided into a protein group or a control group. The protein group was simply given an extra 30 grams of protein per day on top of their usual diet.

The researchers found that during weight maintenance, the group with the higher protein intake was less likely to regain the lost weight, and any weight gain in the protein group was lean tissue and not fat. The results were attributed to higher thermic effect and a decrease in appetite.

Although calories will always be the bottom line when it comes to fat loss, studies such as these are confirming what bodybuilders have known for a long time: That calories are not the only factor that can influence your body composition. Your protein intake and your ratios of protein relative to carbohydrate and fat can clearly play a key role in helping you lose fat and keep the fat off.

None of this is news to bodybuilders or to anyone who is already familiar with bodybuilding-style nutrition programs, but it’s interesting that such positive results were achieved in studies where protein was increased so conservatively - as little as 30 additional grams of protein per day or a 20% increase above traditional protein recommendations.

Many bodybuilding-style diets call for as much as 30%-40% of the total daily calories from protein and some competitive bodybuilders crank up the protein (temporarily) to as much as 50% before competitions.

I’m curious to see if any research is ever conducted with these more aggressive protein intakes. If so, my guess is that we will find once again, that the bodybuilders are ahead of the science when it comes to the manipulation of diet for improving body composition.

The take home lesson is simple: If you remove some carbs and put in some protein - nothing too radical; even as little as trading 30 grams per day of carbs for 30 grams of lean protein - this small change in your diet may decrease your appetite, decrease your body fat and help you keep the fat off after you lose it.

Tips for Guaranteed Healthy and Fast Weight Loss

Almost everybody, at some point in their of life, has experienced weight-related problems. Most of us, women and men alike, are not content with what we see. We feel that unless we are wafer thin like the models and celebrities we see on television and magazines, we will never be attractive and beautiful.

On the other hand, there are an increasing number of obese individuals across the world. Becoming overweight has become a trend in both the West and East hemispheres. The increasing popularity of processed and fast foods have exacerbated the obesity situation.

There are many diseases related to being overweight, such as hypertension, diabetes, sleep apnea, coronary heart disease, to name a few. Thus, you need to find ways to incorporate weight loss activities and good eating habits to our daily routine.

Before you start any type of diet, however, you need to go to a physician first. The doctor will tell you if your weight loss plan is appropriate for your health condition. Furthermore, the physician will also assist you in determining if you really need to lose weight and how much weight you need to shed. Many people develop eating disorders because they do not visit a doctor before drastically changing their eating habits and starting a diet plan.

If you want to lose weight fast, healthy and permanently, you need to follow the tips below.

Maintain a balanced diet

The reason why many people are overweight is partly due to an unbalanced diet. If you eat too much from one food group, you won't be able to get the vitamins and nutrients that your body need.

A balanced diet is composed of protein, dairy food, a little bit of fat from healthy oil, fruit and vegetables, and good carbohydrates -- at least 5 portions every day. Many professionals suggest a diet that is composed of mostly carbohydrate, moderate protein intake, and a little bit of fat.

However, there are many diets espousing a huge amount of protein intake and a dramatic decrease in carbohydrates. Before you apply such diets to your daily routine, you need to talk with a physician first. This high-protein diet may not be ideal for some people, such as those with kidney disease.

Increase servings of fruit and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are good sources of vitamins and minerals that our body need. Such food supplies us with vitamin A that is good for our eyes, vitamin C that boosts our immune system, beta-carotene that helps protects our body from the damage of free radicals, and nutrients.

Most fruits and vegetables are high in fiber and low calorie, so they also help clean our colon and make us feel fuller. Canned fruits and vegetables are acceptable; however, there is no substitute for the real thing.

Stay away from junk food and sugar-loaded drinks

Try eliminating junk food and soda from your diet for a week or two, and you will surely feel and see the difference. Maybe the reason why it is called junk food is due to its poor nutritional value. Try looking at a junk food's label, not only is it full of saturated fat, but also usually high in salt or sugar, or both.

Aside from water, most of the things you drink are also loaded with calories. Soda and sweetened fruit juices are mainly sugar. Thus, no matter how little you eat, but if you still drink lots of soda and sweetened beverages, you will still continue to gain weight.

Don't skip breakfast

Even if you are in a hurry or late for work or school, you need to grab a bite. It would be better if your breakfast is healthy – probably an apple, oatmeal and a glass of nonfat milk.

If you miss breakfast, you most probably will feel hungrier the rest of the day. In order for our body function properly, we need energy from the food we eat. If you skip breakfast, or a meal or two, your body's metabolism will slow down to compensate for the lack of energy supply.

More often than not, people who skip meals, particularly the first meal of the day, will binge later in the day. So, even if you skipped breakfast, you will have a tendency to eat a lot during lunch or dinner.

Start exercising

Many of us spend an extended number of hours in our offices. We get stuck sitting down in front of the computer for more than eight hours. When we get home, we spend another hour or two to check e-mails and chat with friends. Thus, we don't expend most of the calories from the food we eat and those excess calories go straight to our belly, arms and thighs.

If you want to increase your metabolism, you must start exercising. Brisk walking is a good way to start your exercise routine. If you do not have time to go to the gym, you need to find ways to increase your activities. Try sports activities that you will enjoy – boxing, badminton, or spelunking. There are many to fat burning activities to choose from.

The tips above will not let you lose 10 pounds overnight. However, in the long run, such changes will help you become healthier and fitter. The weight loss you will experience will be more permanent.
